The NPFL continues this weekend with teams hoping to climb up the table. Former Warri Wolves star Oladapo Alakija was unable to repeat his semifinal heroics but was happy to take a step closer to a record tenth continental title. He will be hoping that the team he helped to coach can continue that success this weekend. For now, though, the team that lost to Warri Wolves is the one that should be able to move up the table.

The team needs to win this competition to qualify for the elite Nigerian Premier Football League next season. The game was the first of two group B matches. The other game was a 1-1 draw between Gombe United and El-Kanemi Warriors.
