Marketing falls into the grad scheme of the things that you've got to do in a bussines. So if you are running effective bussines, its not just about advertising, you've got finances, your accounts payable and your accounts receivable. Maybe you got certain People that are customers but owe you money or other clientele that are currently paying you. Maybe you've got people you need to pay, other vendors and people that are helping you run your website and all sort of things, not forgetting hiring people, managing people, making sure that things are getting out on time and also making sure that things are done correctly by your workers the way you desire. Really, the list of marketing components is endless and that's where the term "marketing is crucial" comes in. You have to consider all this things before even starting to grow your business.

Study Human Behaviour- You need to find out if people would want what you want to produce. Do people want what you are producing? Are they in need of it? Would they be interested in what you have to offer? It is very important to study and survey around to note what your targeted audience want. People think that starting up a business is as easy as coming up with an idea, setting up a website and putting links for People to buy your products. But growing your business is so much deeper than that. You will only generate sales after you've studied human behaviour.

Focus On One Social Media- I can't stress this enough, people think that Marketing is all about engaging yourself with many different social media platforms, but the truth is that, you can have all those different social medias but still you won't be able to make noise in the media for people to recognise your business. Stick to one social media , be active in it, be consistent with it. Don't go to social media marketing with just the intention of getting sales. Interact with your potential customers, make connections and friendship with them and with no time they will trust you and of course they will want to promote you by buying your product. And if your product satisfy their needs, then they will keep on coming back for more and that's how you grow and expand your business.

Yes, not just active but also engaging yourself with your audience to create friendships and connection. Market it with the intention of creating friendship so that people could be able to trust you and when they have your trust it's easy for them to be your customers forever. Online marketing just need trust because, you don't see each other face to face.

These are great tips you've given here and anyone who uses it will stand a great chance of growing their business. It is very important to identify the kind of market and know exactly how your competitors are doing i.e their strategies. It's always very important to know the behaviours of the customers and identity their needs.

These are good tips indeed. As a small business, to enable growth, you need to know who your targeted audience are and look for effective ways to attract them, no matter how small the business may be. There is always a trageted audience.

Don't know if you have heard it before but people by what they want and not what they need. As a business you must cater for that want. E.g someone that is obese or diabetic might need weight watchers or a diet program but they want a bar of chocolate.

You must get into your typical target audience head. You do that my creating a profile of your customer

  • Age:
  • Demography:
  • where they live:
  • Sex:
  • Marital status:
  • Children/Grandchildren - Children
  • Spending ability - have full time jobs and secondary income
  • Key pain points:
  • Interests: Holidays, fitness, cars etc
Once you know your customer, you can begin to target this profile/avatar

It is not a day job making a small business into a bigger one. It takes more of courage to do so. The very first thing to have is the determination never to give up. There are many instances that will call for giving up easily as an owner of small business. Strict competition from the bigger companies is even enough but a mind that'd determined cannot be easily conquered.

That you've talked perfectly. Yes determination is key, somebody who is determined is someone who has passion and self drive within them and also the focus and energy to do it because without even the mental focus towards the business someone can easily fail and discontinue the bussines.
