The rate of inflation we experience on virtually everything now is at an alarming rate. People make different excuses for the high cost we experience, especially on food items.
Is it possible for the prices of these items to later drop down to their old prices?

I don't think goods and services can return to there old price.
Because the world is moving forward. As it moves so also every thing in it is moving. It is not what we pay for house rent 50 years ago that we pay now.
It is a necessarily thing that things will become more expensive years by years.
So as prices of goods and services increased, it can never reduce to its old price but can only have slight reduction.

I don't think it's possible for some goods and services to go back to their old prices, because this world is changing day by day so as goods and services increases in value, let's talk about cement, in the past five years or so my dad but cement at the rate of 1500 naira, but going to the same shop to buy the same cement the price is not the same, and the price they are selling the cement now it's been stable for a very long time no change of price.

The economy dictates the fluctuation of the prices of goods and services. When the economy gets stronger the prices tend to go down and vice versa. One example is the petrol revolution in the Middle East. Their economy suddenly got very strong with the sale of oil. Prices of goods went down and even taxes went down as well.

It is not possible for some goods and services prices to return to their old prices. Ever since I was born, when prices of goods goes up, it becomes so hard for it to go back to its initial prices. Though the price may change a little bit but it will not go back to its their old prices. Especially in Nigeria, what ever that goes up is always hard to come down.
