The NDIS will promptly assist with funding replacement for the participant' assistive technology. They will also provide funding for renting the item if participant must wait for a replacement and can't utilize existing plan funds.

The NDIS will consider funding assistive technology replacement when:
  • It no longer functions or frequently breaks.
  • It's unsafe to continue using.
  • A child has outgrown their assistive technology.
  • There are changes in the participant's support needs due to a degenerative condition.
  • It's damaged beyond repair.
