You need to constantly write to be become used to writing. By so doing you would perfect the skills and this will help you write more.

Be creative and imaginative

To be a successful poet then you need to employ the creative and imaginative skills. You need to be unique with your words and way of writing

Have a good grabs of vocabulary

You would know how to play around with words. Poetry is about being catchy with words so you should have a good grab of it.

In my opinion, in order to write good poems, you must have some knowledge of poetry and vocabulary, you must be creative but the most important of all is to have a talent. You are born with this talent. It is a gift from God.
