You have a lot of things to do every day, so there's no time for a new skill. You can't afford to spend weeks or months practicing something that you're not sure you'll ever use.
But there are ways to learn a new skill without spending weeks or months practicing it. Here are some tips:
1. Try the skill out before you start learning it. If you think about it, almost everything we do requires some kind of practice — from walking to playing an instrument to writing code. And if you want your new skill to stick in your brain for good, then you need to practice it often enough to make sure that you're using it correctly and consistently in your real life.
2. Don't worry about being perfect at first; just try again tomorrow if necessary and keep trying each day until you get good at it.
